If you have visited this site before them you surely know that I am not talking about those creepy,crawly,ugly creatures!Its something more scary and maybe present in the computer you are using right now!After all a worm is a program designed to crack down on your network by replicating itself and degrading the bandwidth.
Actually this was not the intention of the man who came up with the concept of the worm.John Scoch of Xerox Research center came up with the idea of a program that would travel through different computers in a network and look up for those who were idle and allocate its resources to those who were running short of them.So, a worm was actually supposed to increase the efficiency of the computers on the network.This idea was then used by developers to terrify the users rather than helping them.Today the original idea is far lost  and worm is only an infection for a system.
So the next time you see your anti virus detecting a worm,don’t start hunting on the network,Just KILL it.
