I had been a gaming freak for quiet some time but about a year ago I took a resolution not to WASTE any more time on gaming.Shifting to linux was a major effort in this direction.I would have kept my promise(to myself) had I not faced all the critisism from my classmates about poor support provided by linux to gaming. But I tend to ignore all such critisism. After my exams I felt so bored that I just had no option but to look for some games that could run on linux(Opensuse/ubuntu).
I found a lot of them but here are the top 5 which I felt are worth playing:
1. Mania Drive
This is a cool racing game and can be compared to trackmania and crazy taxi.It can be played over the LAN and the internet and has some cool tracks. Graphics are good but the random camera position movement can give a headache.Overall a good game.

2. Racer
Yet another racing game with some cool graphics and sound tracks. One needs to add a few libraries before all the adrenalin rush begins.Small download size.Good alternative to some versions of NFS.

3. Boswars
This game is somewhat like The Age OF Empires(AOE).Since I am not a big fan(infact I could never understand the game) of such games but It looked easy to install with graphic quality similar to AOE.I hope it could be compatible with AOE in the future.

4. Assault Cube
Good alternative to Counter Strike(CS)(the madness about CS forced me to quit gaming).Lots of maps but not many options when it comes to guns and acessories.Again not compatible with CS and hence cannot connect to its servers. But then its a overall good game with video/graphics quality compared to CS version 1.6.

5. Supertuxkart
A bit childish game more like lego racer(shown to me by my younger brother).Yet its fun to play and has many tracks and options. Its a 90Mb download but is worth playing.
Apart from all these games, almost all the distros come loaded with some nice games such as Xmoto,super-tux and board games etc which can be fun to play and some serious stress busters
Keep Rocking and keep gaming!!!
